Thanksgiving Leftover Recipe- that time of year again

Rather than sharing Thanksgiving recipes, I like to find ways to remake leftovers. I get tired of the same Thanksgiving flavors. Also, I think it's helpful to strategize what leftovers to take from Thanksgiving.

This time around, I thought I'd tackle the much neglected green beans. How nice would it be to find some better alternatives for what is such a traditionally boring side dish? This recipe turns green beans into a much better delivery system for a delicious sweet and spicy sauce. Check out photos and the recipe below!! Happy claiming Thanksgiving leftovers!!

Tempura Green Beans
1 cup of flour
1 egg
club soda
Vegetable oil for frying
leftover Thanksgiving green beans

Chili Dipping Sauce
1/3rd cup of honey
2 tablespoons of ketchup
1-2 tablespoons of chili sauce
2 tablespoons of lime juice
1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
2 teaspoons of soy sauce
1 clove of grated garlic
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

1. Collect all ingredients. I suggest making the sauce first as you want to make sure that the green beans are hot.
2. For the sauce, combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to mix.
3. Crack the egg in a bowl.
4. Pour in one cup of club soda. The bubbles can help aid in the flakiness of the tempura.
5. Carefully stir in one cup of flour. It's ok to have some lumps.
6. Pour the vegetable oil in a pan and heat on high until it begins boiling
7. Dip the green beans in the tempura mixture and carefully lower in to the oil.
8. Be sure to flip the green beans in the oil in order to make sure the both sides become a golden brown.
9. Let dry on a plate lined with paper towels. And let sit until they're cool enough to handle and dip. Enjoy!!
